STATE COLLEGE, PA., JUNE 8, 2011- Shaner Hotels is pleased to announce that Dan Freeland is joining the Shaner corporate offices as our Regional Director of Operations based in State College, PA.
Dan brings over 20 years of diverse hospitality experience to his position. Dan began his hospitality career as a Sales Manager with the Holiday Inn. In 1991, he joined Marriott International as a Sales Manager, was promoted to Assistant Gener rc helicopter market place al Manager at the Courtyard by Marriott in Williamsburg, VA and earned the General Manager role at the Fairfield Inn in Hampton, VA. Dan's career expanded as he eventually assumed responsibility for 14 Courtyard and Fairfield Inn units, both managed and franchised, in terms of revenue strategies and brand standards.
Dan's career also includes high profile jobs as Resident Manager at both the h Kenmore Bisque 15 inchi elicopter technology Washingtonian Center Marriott in Gaithersburg, MD and the Hilton Head Marriott Beach & Golf Resort on Hilton Head, NC. Most recently, he served as General Manager of the Spartanburg Marriott at Renaissance Park in Spartanburg, NC and provided leadership in the opening of Marriott properties in Ar manual trash compactor lington, VA.

In his new role, Dan will be based at the Holiday Inn Express in State College and will provide leadership and direction to all of the properties in his region.
Dan, his wife Colette and son, Mitch, will be relocating to the State College area and will begin work on July 1, 2011.
